Organization and Leadership

The IPE and IDE Council was established by the Dean of the College of Health and Behavioral Studies in 2018. The council was formed to facilitate the understanding and implementation of interprofessional and interdisciplinary education, research, and practice, and considers ways to strengthen CHBS IPE and IDE offerings so that faculty and students can acquire and demonstrate mastery of interprofessional competencies.

(Adapted from the Interprofessional Education Council End-of-Year Report, 2019-2020).

IPE and IDE Council

The IPE and IDE Council is charged with advancing the Dean’s vision for a coordinated set of rigorous, yet flexible, interprofessional and interdisciplinary learning experiences for CHBS students at the undergraduate and graduate levels that lead to demonstrated competencies.

The IPE and IDE Council includes college-wide representation from each academic department, the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services, and the JMU Libraries.  Each department or unit identifies a person to serve on the Council.

The council is chaired by Dr. Linda Plitt Donaldson, Associate Dean, College of Health and Behavioral Studies and Director, Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services.
