The IPE and IDE Introductory Module, an asynchronous online course, introduces the learner to the concepts of interprofessional and interdisciplinary education (IPE and IDE) at James Madison University's College of Health and Behavioral Studies. The module includes nine lessons aiming to facilitate an understanding of and capacity to engage in interprofessional and interdisciplinary activities.

Two versions of the IPE and IDE Introductory Module are available. Please chose carefully the version that will meet the purpose and goal you have as a course instructor, professional and/or student.

Open Version

This version of the IPE and IDE Introductory Module is open for exploration. You want to use this version if you:

  • Want to freely explore the module; move from one lesson to another.
  • Are a course instructor and want to assign specific lessons for students, but not assign them the entire module.

OPEN VERSION OF THE MODULE

Certificate Version

This version of the IPE and IDE Introductory Module is designed to be completed sequentially, from Lesson 1 to Lesson 9.  After completing this version of the module learner will be asked to complete a quiz and provide their information to receive their certificate of completion via email within 7 days. You want to use this version if you are:

  • A student whose course instructor has assigned that you complete the whole module and submit the certificate as a proof of completion.
  • A student who wants to complete all nine lessons in the IPE and IDE Introductory Module and receive a certificate of completion.
  • A faculty member or other professional who wants to complete the IPE and IDE Introductory Module as professional development.
